Third baseman Aramis Ramirez hit a homerun and had 5 RBI as the Jefferson Park
Penguins defeated the North Dallas Fire Ants in 12 innings 6 to 5 at the
ballpark.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Finally, Jefferson Park pulled
the game out in the 12th inning. Ramirez reached on an error. Ty Wigginton
was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Mike Cameron then
slapped a one-base hit. Chris Young came up and he delivered a single
resulting in an exciting win for Jefferson Park and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Jefferson Park rapped out 12 hits for the
afternoon.
Jason Grilli(1-0) went 3 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Joakim
Soria(1-2) was given the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive
lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
